The teams are complex
It takes years to know them well
For now, I learn names

I watch the interns
And wonder what they will do
When they are my age

Three kids try to play
But their games are made for two
One must be ousted

We sizzled for days
Then hid in the mall until
Cool air could greet us

Life saver was good
Until it got too crunchy
Now off to dentist

For years we heard them
Loud booms that echoed the hood
We parked and we watched

I sat by his side
Then I was outside the door
Now he goes alone

Errands cooled us down
As the summer scorched our house
We all moved slowly
