The clock ticks the same
As years pass, time starts running
And our days zip by

Monday at First Ave
All age show – mine doubled theirs
Some were older still

I started my chores
On Saturday not Sunday
I enjoyed the zone

At age six and nine
They were now sitcom ready
Sad but good milestone

We all were at home
A week had passed, we survived
Cleanup this weekend

Collections of junk
Slowly demolished the web
And freed our table

A dinner invite
Crisis looming, texting fast
An old friend saves me

Monday, I iron
The clock keeps beat as I work
Waiting for play days

Returned to a slap
Routines stopped the freedom pull
Kid time made it right
