People run and walk
My thoughts were trapped, I missed it
I assumed one speed

I stumbled and spilled
My groggy, foggy work day
Gave up, fled to nap

The blocked skyline view
Paused our pent up words until
Thought soaked chatter burst

Knowingly, we drove
As the sky attacked our path
We just kept moving

A pan of brownies,
Some hooch and munchies with friends
Screen porch hideaway

My ears ringing, why?
Could it be covert chatter
Why the need to hide?

His mood matched his hair –
Flaming red. He unleashed fire
At those in his path.
