Monthly Archives: July 2013

6th Birthday in Wisconsin

Sarah read each card
Like a poetry reading
The presents would wait

Photo Wall Project

I see the walls filled.
But now they’re empty. I cut
To find the right voice.

Weekend Sun

We all had stories
They starred the big yellow guy
The chap winter hid

Monthly Weather

Winter snow in May
June ground drowns from non-stop rain
July scalds to start

Holiday Break

A day of pure rest
I read and then napped, read more
Nothing was pressing

Walking Half Marathon

We packed a backpack
Downtown bound with no agenda
Felt a pull, walked there

Firework Dog

The crackling light booms
Puppy sat and wagged her tail
Other dogs whimper

Time with Grandparents

It all seemed normal
But starting tomorrow, miles
Will scatter the kids

Writing After Bedtime

As the house shut down
My pen started dancing and i followed
The trail that it carved

Work Happy Hour in the Burbs

The Uptown Bar closed
Our glassware count was stagnant
One beer, one glass – sold
