After buffet lunch
We drove through the back way, lost
Look, work friends walking!

We scheduled a date
Vowed not to talk about work
But we fell asleep

Thrown words pick up speed
As they wallop their target
But why do I play?

A much needed break
In the middle of the week
Hoping for clear thoughts

Our cats lounge all day
No work to do, no schedules
They sleep when sleepy

I flowed into thoughts
And rode the furious wave
Through books and journals

The cookbooks came out
As the temperature dipped
First sign of autumn

Apologies heard
The colorist fixed my bangs
I dove into my book
