Card games, rattlesnakes and heat
Icy air greets them

Lined up with others
They learned self defense and forms
And left wanting more

New washing machine
Sits in the wrong room, waiting
For someone to show

A movie later?
Not when our 5PM meal
Went over four hours

Fixing the washer
An early delivery
Blocked by old plumbing

The little girl packed
Books, crafts and two dolls. She left
On a private jet.

Within a book store
New ideas wait to be heard
I peek and leave changed

Lounging on the couch
Wanted a TV teaser
But it yanked me in

We tiptoed around
Potholes but then a lake in
Our washer appeared

Deserted fair grounds
Except two buildings that housed
Books oozing with dreams
