Monthly Archives: February 2015

Defiant

The house was asleep
I prep for lights out knowing
I will seize my pen

Where Did It Go?

Fat fluffy snowflakes
Fluttered through the air for hours
Yet the ground lay sparse

Another Holiday

Sunday played a trick
To silence Monday’s uproar
Let the alarm sleep

Hallmark Holiday

Valentine’s Day props
Candy, cards, reservations
I prefer shared time

Rescued

Friday threw a curve
I struck out but then prevailed
When my team stepped in

Protest Ends

Her years of protest
Ends when she simply says yes
Now pizza, what’s next?

Who’s There?

I think spring is close
But raw air batters my cheek
And says “we’re not done”

Mean Ol’ Winter

Gaze out the window
To flee the meeting and muse
But ice halts my flight

Good-bye Weekend

The weekend walks out
Leaves Monday morning in charge
Bullies me for sport

Sundays

My noggin giggles
Amidst the Times and book piles
Sundays swim in words
