Thoughts on a Monday

I woke on Monday
Still vexed from the weekend’s thief
The bandit called chores

Siblings Getting Along

No screens for six hours
Declared worst day by hour four
By the fifth, they clicked

Furniture Shopping

We move store to store
Our walk slows with jilted hope
We tried, now online

Greet and Flee

The sunrise filled sky
Welcomed me but left when work
Grabbed its boxing gloves

The Illusionists

I leave work behind
Enter the magician’s world
Common sense unwinds

Wind Barrier

Good-bye waterpark
Icy wind slaps us as we
Make our trek for home

Staycation

Our vacation plans
Assumed copious free time
Failed to tell the clock

An Outback Awakening

Misled flashbacks flee
From the greasy salt lick dubbed
The Blooming Onion

St. Paul Landmark

A classic lunch choice
We thought but the noise and food
Trapped us in past days

Spring Cleaning

The bright sun in spring
Showcases all the old muck
Winter’s filth take leave
