Closes the distance

Trump, the puppeteer
Making Republicans dance
While he cashes in

A puppy was close
Until we looked at our fence
An easy escape

While the sun slumbered
The rest of us faced Monday
Or at least tried to

Our vow to stay home
Destroys our long shopping days
Now just more screen time

Our holiday card
Despite not leaving the house
Life still fills the page

Their lack of planning
Somehow stole my prized Friday
The weekend judges

It was a free day
Until meetings shelled my plan
Trashed tomorrow too
