College visits start

While I paint the trim
My cat climbs up the ladder
To inspect my work

On vacation eve
I grabbed wild expectations
And safely packed them

The home bar lined up
Parents waiting for kids’ flights
Moment to catch up

We escape with friends
To dimly lit speakeasies
Underground retreats

Possibilities
Float between real and our dreams
Paint helps makes it real

A room neglected
Pushed aside while kids grew up
Years later, we paint
