With sleep battling treats

My unstructured day
Resisted aims to dig out
I have no regrets

Friday wiggled in

I watched the dust flail

Drove conversation limits
Then the day threw rocks

With envy I glare
As the cats slumber midday
I trudge back to work

The election game
Candidates craft their fiction
And avoid answers

Woke to summer’s warmth
Then stonewalled the temp tumble
With heaps of layers

Sunlit monuments
Greets us as we say goodbye
How can we hit pause?
