We chat a bit and zone out
Melt into downtime

With plane turbulence
Who needs a roller coaster
Sipped my drink giggling

Guessed weather forecasts
With no penalties for flubs
I rethink packing

Head buried in work
The clock sprints and grabs the sun
And the day looks back

Trapped in clean-up mode
When the day tripped on itself
The new moon felt full

The ill-mannered cats
Chased down the waft of chicken
They end in porch jail

The weekend slows down
With vacation in our sight
Our stale tasks stand up

An afternoon text
Just like an old school door knock
Then precious friend time

Rain drove us inside
But our chatter continued
Drops or not, friends win

The new gas meter
Took out our water heater
Baseball hat work day?
