To Charlie Brown tree shopping                         
Must call it a day

As boxes pile up
We plug away at our list
Hoping life can hold

Pictures for the card
They are all perfect and wrong
But it’s a short life

Contort around cats
And become their bed for naps
Cagey heist of space

As we dropped her off
The winds started whooshing east
Cats started moping

My cooking challenge
Fit in the college kid’s asks
In a few short days

Moved from game to game
Without declaring winners
Quite sure I won most

Mise en place failure
Early Thanksgiving morning
And we’re still married

Non-stop catch-up talk
As we meandered the mall
And shopped for what’s next

Synchronous kid asks
Surprise band concert for one
Next, an early flight
