With another home
The cats float between their peeps
Feet never touch ground

Cats welcome her home
As if she knew none in Greece
Or maybe they know

With one kid at prom
And one heading back from Greece
We are quite lucky

To the cat’s horror
Empty house at dinnertime
I came home to “words”

Posterboard for school
Looks out the window watching
The car pull away

Posterboard, tape, kids
Their last group project sprawled out
High school wraps next week

Monday was task lists
Wrapped around every nook
Waiting for checkmarks

Mother’s Day rewrite
When all the roads to Mom quelled
And construction won
